Madeline Rose, then a 5th grader at Battle Academy in Chattanooga, took first place in the middle school division of Scenic Tennessee's 2005 photo contest, "Message in the Bottles," for this image of geese foraging among the containers littering a lakefront in Soddy Daisy.
