Public Opinion Polls

One way to gauge the popular support for beverage container deposits is through public opinion surveys. Professional, randomized surveys routinely show that 75 to 90 percent of citizens support these laws. This overwhelming level of support exists not only in states that already have container deposits. It's the case here in Tennessee as well:

FALL 2009 MTSU POLL: (Middle Tennessee State University): 83.2% support for a 5-cent Tennessee deposit with returns to redemption centers.
